what's with the snow?

Well, at least it's sunny outside.

I seem to have somehow caught a cold. Argh. I had been doing so well and illness free this year.

I'm trying to study for statistics, but I have not been that successful. I wonder when I'll stop procrastinating and start working.

so

I'm on my reading week right now. While I don't have to do any writing, I do have to study for the infamous statistics test. I'll start today I swear.

I've been going out with friends this past weekend. A lot of couples. I got to play third or fifth wheel depending on the situation. Always interesting when couples sort of argue in public, I don't know why....It's uncomfortable but interesting...Maybe it's 'cause it's interesting to see who wins...Or how they handle disagreements. What works, what doesn't...

I also saw Hitch. It was all right. It was funny, but I think it could have been funnier. I bought Kung Fu Hustle (Gong fu)...Hmm...Maybe I'll watch it before I study for stats.......

I just made some green tea ice cream. I finally found some reasonably priced matcha powder. I tried making it once with loose leaf tea steeped in hot milk, but the flavour wasn't strong enough. I find out if this batch worked after I freeze it.

Hmm..Green tea ice cream...Kung fu movie....What more could you ask for???

what to say...

So, I've been finishing up some school work the last week, and then reading week starts for me. Yee ha. But that doesn't mean much because I have a stats test to write the week we get back. STATS? I haven't done math since grade 12! I'm so screwed.

In other news, there's no news. And we all know that no news is good news. :)

So another Valentine's Day is going by...The only truly good thing about Valentine's Day is the chocolate...But then Easter brings chocolate as well. Hmmm. Hallowe'en brings chocolate too...So does Christmas....Mmm. Chocolate.

stolen from junky...

All about me:

I AM: A Dateless Wonder
I WANT: to be fulfilled and happy with my life
I HAVE: a slight sense of unease and disatisfaction about where I'm going
I WISH: I could make a living writing humourous stuff for the rest of my life
I HATE: when I say I'll 'never' do something...And end up doing it. Never say never.
I FEAR: EVERYTHING.
I SEARCH: for a happy, healthy relationship with a man
I WONDER: where I'll be in five years
I REGRET: not ever having participated in a food fight
I LOVE: the wind, the rain, and smiles
I AM NOT: going to ever meet Brad Pitt
I DANCE: in the manner of an extra in an 80s teen movie
I CRY: when I watch movies (Spiderman 2, Finding Nemo, etc.)
I WRITE: when I can
I WIN: contests
I LOSE: sleep
I CONFUSE: easily
I NEED: a sign to tell me I'm going in the right direction
I SHOULD: learn to be less afraid

I'm Howie D....Howie doin'???

How much do looks matter? I mean, if you find someone's personality supremely attractive, can that overrule a complete lack of physical chemistry?

Or are those types of people called "friends"?

I realize that people can become more physically attractive if they have winsome personalities...But physical attraction IS important, right?

A balance between the two is most desirable, but does it ever work out that way...?

These are just some questions, no conclusions.

Here's what the Backstreet Boys had to say:

At a party, you're introduced to a beautiful but boring girl and a fun but not-so-cute girl. Which of the two do you talk to?

Nick: Well, you could talk to the beautiful girl and she could be really stuck up and have a bad attitude, but the not-so-pretty girl could have a great personality. I'd have to see what their personalities were like first.
AJ: I would go for the interesting but not-so-beautiful girl, 'cause at least you could have a decent conversation. Beauty isn't only on the outside. If she's got a good personality and she's fun to hang out with, that's better than a girl who looks good but is dumb.
Howie: Oh wow! Hmmm... I'm gonna be more interested in the one with the better personality. I don't think there's any such thing as a truly ugly person. It's a combination of different things, and if I couldn't find someone with the right combination, maybe I'd just talk to myself!

What do YOU think?

indeed

I went here for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. Looks-wise, it was a standard non-atmospheric restaurant, but the food was good. It had very exciting appetizers. The service was really slow, but it was more a Slow Food atmosphere than actual bad service. Or at least, I like to think so... :)

Since we're just a bunch of single girls and one hitched guy going out, the ladies started talking about weddings which is always amusing. While the guy was getting slightly irritated, he's always patient enough to put up with are blabbering.

P: So, J, what type of wedding do you want?
J: Well, I've been thinking it over, and I want it to take place in this hall...
P: You've got two years to make it happen.
J: I know...
Everyone: You want to be married by 26???
J: And kids three years later.
DW: It's not gonna happen.
J: I know.
The Guy: My guy friends never talk about this stuff.
DW: The only reason we can tolerate talking about it is because everyone's single. If one of us were actually getting married, the rest of us would be thinking: 'You stupid cow. Why don't you shut the fuck up? I'm tired of hearing about your stupid perfect wedding and your stupid perfect fiancé. Why don't you choke on a wedding cake sample?!'

End scene.

In other news, I hope the a*c/junky celebration went well & that there was enough food! Sorry I couldn't make it! :)!!!!!!!!

quarterlifecrisistime

What to say...I was at home today doing school work....Sort of...The pull of the Cosby Show is just too great sometimes. And the fact that it's on six times a day doesn't really do much to help my Cos <--HA. The Cos? Cause? Get it?

Yeah. Uh. Maybe I'll try writing again later....

INTERVIEW

Okay. So I had the interview. It was to work in the rather large library in my University. It pays $22.47 per hour...which is why I applied. I'm lazy, but not lazy enough to deny that much money!

The interviewers were sooooooooo friendly! It's a bit disarming because you can't tell whether you're doing a shit job of selling yourself or not. I think the interview went well except for a few parts. I think I babbled a bit, but that's to be expected. The major problem was that they asked me to do a practical portion where I demonstrated how I would show someone a search and I kinda messed that part up because I couldn't read a part of the catalogue!! AGGGH!!!!!!!!! STUPID PRINT JOURNALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well. Apparently a lot of people in my faculty are interested in this position...So we'll see. She said she'd contact everyone by the end of next week.

The shifts were PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!But I'm not holding my breath.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW IN HALF AN HOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Serenity now! Serenity now!

mon amie

One of my friends recently received a lovely email from a suitor--en Francais! He professed his love to her! Tres romantique, non? She was a little unimpressed that he couldn't do it in person--Quel dommage! Mais, I think that it's okay...His heart is in the right place. I say we all go to Quebec City...It seems to be a hot spot for picking up les Pepsis!
