The life and times of a great Dateless Wonder.

Hmm...Been doing homework, procrastinating, etc.

Funny how blogging isn't a form of procrastination right now. It seems too chorish.

The weather has been nice.

The friend of mine whose present boyfriend professed his love to her a month or so ago is having some difficulties...The boyfriend recently criticised her on a very superficial level...She had doubts about their compatibility prior to this event, so it seems as though everything is up in the air.

It's really interesting to wonder what mix of qualities makes a particular couple compatible. For example, in my friend's case, she and the bf had very similar religious beliefs, yet it seems as though their personalities may be uncomplimentary.

What does it take to have a successful relationship? People need to be similar in some respects...Values for one, some common interests, sense of humour, etc. But where can the differences exist?

You always hear how too many similarities makes for a boring relationship, yet too many differences makes for plain incompatibility....

I wonder what it takes...

no love in the stacks...

...this week, I had a lot of first year students asking for help. I've got to draw the line somewhere, don't I?

School is almost over soon. Every week seems like some sort of existential battle. I can tell from my studies and my work experience that I don't want to work in a library. I want to be a kept woman.

In other news, I'm tired and I want to sleep.

School is almost over for the year. There are only about four weeks left. I was considering taking summer school, but a course on government publications does not seem all that alluring.

I've had another school year with basically no crushes. There was the Hitched Crush for about two weeks there, but otherwise, it's been pretty dry.

What is going on? It's been two years of a desert-like existence.

love in the stacks: the story

HAHA. Sorry. (Again.)

Yesterday when I was working, I had just dealt with two mentally ill individuals in a row, when this nice looking young man (NLYM) approached the desk. He was a student at another university, but he wanted to use some of our resources...

I set him up at a computer while one of the mentally ill individuals I had worked with followed us and starting asking the NLYM questions about his university and who he knew and what year he was in, etc., etc. (If only I could be so persistent! :)

So, it turned out that NLYM was in fourth year, and that he also worked at IBM as mentally ill man said "You work at IBM. I can see your nametag. I know your name now." (This is where you know I'm not as big a stalker as I'd like to think I am-- I didn't even look at the tag and try to remember his name! Fie!)

NLYM asked me if he could print from the particular database, and because I wasn't familiar with the interface I guess I was sort of squinting at the screen, as I'm apt to do when I'm thinking. On the screen were several of the articles he had found. Now either I had weird expression on my face or NLYM was overly sensitive, because he suddenly said, "It's for an essay. Uh. It's about...Uh....Sexuality. Uh. Between. Uh. Men and Women. Uh." And then he showed me his essay topic, "Men want just want sex, women just want love."

And because one of my all time favorite topics is the chemistry of love, I finally had some knowledge to share with a patron! Anyways, we didn't end up walking arm-in-arm out of the library, but a girl can dream, right? He was gainfully employed and in school and he handled the mentally ill man in a very good natured fashion. Sounds perfect... ;)

Oh well.

love in the stacks...

HAHA. Sorry.

I took someone's shift tonight and fell in love with a patron.

Not really, but at least I have a story now.

Will write tomorrow.

I've been lacking motivation to write the last week or so. But I guess all my fellow bloggers have lacked motivation too...And mentioned this fact! What's going on? Is it the weather?

I just realized I have one insignificant thing to write about. There is this totally cute Asian guy who often happens to get on the same bus as me. Not the same stop though.

The last time I saw him, I realized he was an ESL student! He sat next to me and I saw that he was doing his English homework. I love it!

Perhaps, he speaks the international language...Y'know...The international language! Love!

Guess the movie that comes from and you get a prize. :)

America's Next Top Model

I love this show soooooooOOoooooo much.

I'm no fashionista, but I absolutely love watching make-up getting done, hair styled, and walk-offs!

I have also predicted the winners for the last two years from the first episode. I had no gut reaction during this episode, so we'll see.

Favorite quotation:

When asked his opinion about a rather stumpy necked wanna-be model, "Ms." J. responded with a:
"You know how I feel about no-neck monsters."

If they were doing America's Next 5'3" Model, I would totally apply!

So the stats test is over with...Let's not talk about it. :)

I got over my sickness, but then today, I sat next to this girl who was just coughing and blowing her nose throughout the entire class. EW! Why don't people stay home when they're sick? We weren't doing anything important in that class. Yuck.

I've sort of hit a dateless wall where I don't even care. There are no crushes, no future crushes, no mini-crushes, etc.

I'm wasting the pretty.
